Vanguard - Autumn/Winter 2011 "Born Ruffian"

Vanguard brings together their 2011 Autumn/Winter collection in a more mature fashion for the brand, concentrating on the Modern hip Australian gentleman with chunky knits including cardigans and an oversized sweater. A recurring theme in late 2010, and early 2011, paisley prints feature as well as a denim shirt. Very on trend, but still unique none-the-less. This collection is bound to be popular in the Australian market, as well as the recent entering of Vanguard into the American market.

Ksubi Autumn/Winter 2011 - "Beware, Wear"

Ksubi is unmistakably Australia's most recognised brand on the international fashion scene. Ksubi designers Dan Single, George Gorrow and Gareth Moody created the brand in 2000, when motivated to make jeans for themselves that fit and feel well on the body. From then, Ksubi exploded onto the Australia scene, and has exponentially grew in popularity ever since. But it all hasnt been plain sailing for the Ksubi crew; a court case over the original 'Tsubi' name, the exit of Gareth Moody from the brand and the label falling into administration in early 2010 have caused head aches for the brand, but have no doubt matured as a part of this. Known for their partying ways and amazing live catwalk spectacles, the boys behind Ksubi has once again brought out an impressive collection of clothing in their latest lookbook. Autum/Winter 2011 for Ksubi, titled "Beware, Wear" examines the structure of urban decay and takes a colour palette from such elements within the concrete jungles were live and play amongst.  Khaki, deep plum, slate and ash are major colour choices for the new range, which experiments with texture through the reversal of fabrics to the external detailing of seams and layering. This season is clear to be a real hit in the colder months to come.

Vanishing Elephant Autumn 2011 - "Them Old Cotton Fields"

Vanishing Elephant is a local Australian brand, being the brain child of Huw Bennett, Felix Chan and Arran Russell. With each having prior experience in the Australian fashion industry, possibilities were endless. The label was incorporated in 2008 and this autumn collection is their fourth, and undoubtedly their best. Paisley patterns are mixed with elegant shades of maroon, green and sandy yellow etc. The gentlemanly-like nature of the collection fits in with current trends whilst also creating its own distinctive and unique personality. Vanishing Elephant is a rare breath of fresh air in a industry full of skater grunge clothing. With its tailored shorts/pants, woven shirting and knitwear and fine leather footwear, VE is an exciting brand with lightyears of potential.
